

About the Artists


Wagih Yassa
Wagih Yassa is a master painter of oil and watercolor. He is passionate about his art and has a special strength in portraits. He lives between Egypt and Canada and has worked in the arts in both countries. He has participated in numerous exhibitions as well as many solo exhibitions. He has been commissioned to create artwork for several prestigious institutions and publications. Among those are for the Naguib Mahfouz novels. In addition, he has also done many press illustrations for magazines such as Rose Al Youseef and Sabah El Kheir . He is on the board of education in Canada and teaches Fine Art and Painting. He is also a member of the prestigious Canadian Portrait Society and the Canadian Watercolor Society.
Samir Fouad Ibrahim
Samir Fouad is one Egypt's top master artists. He was born in Cairo, in 1944. He has participated in the Egyptian art scene since the early 1980’s and is considered one of its leading figures since the late nineties. He worked with Hassan Soliman for several years during the early 1980s. He has had numerous solo exhibitions as well as represented Egypt in the International Watercolr Biennial in 2001. His art depicts rendition of movement and time and is inteneded to be anti-static . It has been described as capturing the flight of the moment and the essence of the passing of time on the subjects of his canvases.


Taher Abdel Azeem
Taher Abdel Azeem has a Ph.D. in Fine Arts at the Decorations Department, 2001. He is a professor since 2013, and teaches at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University. He has participated in many exhibitions in Egypt and abroad and received numerous awards. His art is known for its flamboyant and vibrant use of color.
Mostafa Rahma
Mostafa Rahma, born 1952, is an Egyptian social painter living and working in Cairo. He was greatly influenced by the i Om Kalthoum, not just as an artist but mainly as a powerful woman. In his “Hawanem” series, Rahma portrays these women very affectionately. Showing their boundless love of life, their strength, classiness as he lovingly exposes their particular daily habits & lives (cigarettes, drinks, laughter, parties). Rahma has participated in many group and solo exhibitions, both in Egypt and abroad. He has published several books for children for which he has been awarded in 2004. He is also the recipient of several other awards including the Prince Faisal Bin Talal Award (1992), the Cultural Sector Award at Sharjah (1994), the Abu Dhabi Cultural Center Aword (1996). His work has been acquired in private collections both locally and abroad.

Akila Riad
Akila Riad is a graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Alexandria and received her Masters in 1990 and a PH.D in Fine Arts Philospy in 2000. She has participated in numberous exhibitions in Egypt and America. Her most recent exhibition displayed stunning paintings of women of Egypt - "Egyptians throughout the Ages".

Randa Ismail
Randa graduated with a degree in architecture. She has been devoted and passionate to her artistic career since 2004. Iconic Egyptians artists' insights were the base of her artistic foundation. Her attachment to the setting of the Egyptian life is reflected in her works. She has held two solo exhibitions [Hams el Reef 2011] and [Etr el Makan 2012]. In addition she has participated in many group exhibitions such as [Salon du Caire 56] & in: Gallery Doroub, El k Kahila, Kortoba, shadicor, Fresco, Atelier el Kahera, Sakiet el Sawi , Hanager at The Cairo opera House.

Omar Abdel Zaher
Born in 1966, he obtained a specialization in graphics and has a PhD in Fine Arts. Abdel Zaher is famous for his folkloric style and use of bright colors. His portraits often depict members of his family in various settings. Abdel Zaher often paints couples in love in typical Egyptian settings. His work is exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art and the Cultural Development Fund.

Hanan Youssef
Hanan is an architect, but drawing and painting have always been her passion. She has been painting for as long as she can remember and has attended several workshops in Egypt and Europe. Hanan enjoys experimenting with different styles, themes and mediums – oil, watercolor and pastels. She has held two solo exhibitions:- "Art and Soul" in 2012 and "Asalit Baladna" in 2013 and has participated in several group exhibitions.

Mohamed Khedr
Born in 1970, Egyptian artist Mohamed Khedr has been painting and creating art his whole life. His style includes realism and impressionism, however he uses those schools to portray scenes not commonly seen with the European greats, thus Cairo life and Egyptian singers, thinkers, and heroes are often the focus of his work. He closely follows both classical and contemporary paths.
Mohamed Khedr is a graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts (Set-design Department), Helwan University, Cairo, Egypt (1993). He holds a Graduate Diploma in Folk Art, Arts Academy (1995), and is currently enrolled in an MA Higher Studies program in the Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University. Since graduation, he has worked in the fields of computer graphics, décor, photography, and artistic painting. Mohamed lives in Egypt with his wife and three beautiful children where he paints on a daily basis.

Ahmed El Kutt
Ahmed El Kutt is a young aspiring artist and a recent graduate of Helwan University's Faculty of Fine Arts. He has participated in more than 15 local and international exhibitions. Despite his young age, El Kutt has been awarded many prestigious awards including: The Salon Prize in Drawing at the 22nd Salon of Youth, the Martyr Ziad Bakir Prize in Painting the following year, and he's a two time winner of the Al-Talaie Prize- of the Association of Fine Arts Lovers in Egypt. El Kutt's topics are usually quite unique in their nature and reflect the metamorphosis of his development as an artist

Graduated from the American University in Cairo, and then from Faculty of Arts' Free Post-Graduate Section. Aattended several workshops alongside a group of well-known artists in Egypt. Her true fondness in art was ignited since early years from growing up with aunt and spiritual Godmother Shadia, where her passion blossomed by watching family acquaintance Sabry Ragheb's painting members of her family. Her goal is to shed light on the feminine side of nature through vibrant colors and she derives passion from the female power in the universe. Participated in several group exhibitions in Egypt, Lebanon, and Morocco
Ahmed Abdel Wahab Hawam
Born in Suhag in 1977 and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Ganoub Al Wadi University in Luxor. El Zaeem has participated in countless group exhibitions. festivals and solo shows. He has a unique style that portrays His characters from real life acquaintances. He is influenced by , his life in Upper Egypt. His colours are calm and subtle. The characters are interesting and offer food for thought. His paintings have been sold all over the world. His work is displayed in the Permanent Collection of the Ministry of Culture and Museum of Modern Art.
